Fortune Builders: Than Merrill
Like Armando Montelongo, Than Merrill is also a star of A&E’s show Flip This House. Than is also an ex-pro footballer, a published author and co-owner of the real estate investment company based in southern California called CT Houses. Fortune Builders is a real estate education program based on Merrill’s personal strategies, however like virtually all the gurus, an actual sighting of Merrill at a live event is like looking at a unicorn. It just doesn't happen.
What Does Fortune Builders Offer?
Pretty much the entire gambit – from workshops to online classes to high priced coaching and mastermind programs. We have attended a couple of his free trainings and the thing we liked the most was that they do give back to the community and have a philanthropic bent (just how much though we’re not sure).
Attendance at their initial workshop is $197 (discounted” from $1197), and from there hold on to your hats, additional training programs skyrocket
We’re not sure what their policy is, but they seem like a pretty upfront company, so we’re sure they’re bound to have one. Just read all your paperwork carefully before signing anything and understand what the limitations are of any kind of guarantee.
Like all our Gurus, no one has been able to keep all their clients 100% happy. Merrill has a bit of a mixed bag of online reviews, but the company seems to take complaints seriously so this makes us happy.
Than Merrill & Fortune Builder Complaints
• Merrill does not attend the free preview events
• The free events are big sales pitch events with little valuable information given away
• Education classes are so “deeply discounted” that some students question their real value.
None of these are deal breakers in our humble opinion, as long as you’re serious about doing what it takes to become successful at real estate investing, but you be the judge of that.
